Die ersten 64 Turniere dieser WSOP sind passé und es sieht ganz so aus würde die WSOP doch noch neue Rekordmarken setzen. In der Spieler-des-Jahres-Wertung wird erst das Main-Event entscheiden, ob George Danzer diesen Titel dieses Jahr gewinnt.

Überraschenderweise wird diese WSOP doch einen neuen Teilnehmerrekord aufstellen. Nach einem überragenden Auftakt mit neuen Rekorden im Millionaire-Maker (7.977 Spieler) und dem Senioren-Turnier (4.425) blieben viele Turniere der Folgewochen ein wenig unter den Erwartungen zurück.
In den letzten beiden Wochen zogen jedoch vor allem die Massenturniere nochmals tausende Spieler an und insbesondere das Monster-Stack-Turnier überzeugte mit 7.862 Spielern.
Unterm Strich stehen jetzt (ohne Main-Event) 75.677 Spieler zu Buche. Im Vorjahr waren es 73.120 (zuzüglich 6.352 im Main-Event).
Länder-Ranking
Im Länder-Ranking liegen natürlich die USA weit vorne. Mit 53 Bracelets, 392 Final-Table-Teilnahmen und über 118 Millionen Dollar Preisgelder stellen sie die erfolgreichste Nation. Wenn man bedenkt, dass mehr als 80 Prozent aller Spieler aus den USA kamen, relativiert sich dieser erste Platz aber auch wieder.
Mit vier Siegen und 17 Final-Tables liegt Deutschland in unserem Ranking auf Platz vier.
